Abstract
Chitosanderived brush polymers with welldefined chemical structure were synthesized by combining ATRP with sodium dodecyl sulphatechitosan complex (SCC)based regioselective modification strategy. ATRP macromolecular initiator, O-bromobutyrated CS (CS-Br), was conveniently prepared by grafting bromoisobutyrate onto the hydroxy groups of SCC and subsequently removing SDS from the Obromobutyrated SCC. The structure of product was characterized by FTIR and 1HNMR. Results showed that the grafting level of POEGMA could be adjusted by varying the degree of substitution (DS) of bromobutyrate. By changing molar feeding ratio of OEGMA to CSBr, the degree of polymerization of POEGMA could be modulated.
