    • Chitosanderived brush polymers with welldefined chemical structure were synthesized by combining ATRP with sodium dodecyl sulphatechitosan complex (SCC)based regioselective modification strategy. ATRP macromolecular initiator, O-bromobutyrated CS (CS-Br), was conveniently prepared by grafting bromoisobutyrate onto the hydroxy groups of SCC and subsequently removing SDS from the Obromobutyrated SCC. The structure of product was characterized by FTIR and 1HNMR. Results showed that the grafting level of POEGMA could be adjusted by varying the degree of substitution (DS) of bromobutyrate. By changing molar feeding ratio of OEGMA to CSBr, the degree of polymerization of POEGMA could be modulated.
