    Synthesis and Characterization of Smart CoreShell Nanogels

    • A novel approach to prepare surfactant-free poly(methacrylic acid)(PMAA) nanohydrogels using hydroxypropyl cellulose as template in water solution was demonstrated. pH and temperaturesensitive coreshell nanogels using PMAA nanohydrogels as template were synthesized. The sizes of PMAAPNIPA nanohydrogels were in the range of 338.8-407.9 nm, and decreased with the increasing of the content of crosslinking agent. The nanohydrogel showed good pH-temperature responsive behaviors. The nanohydrogel synthesized with soap-|free emulsion polymerization will be applied in numerous fields.
