Effect of Different Fluorine Containing Polymer on Poly(Ether-Ether-Ketone) Crystallization Behavior in their Blends

    • Non-isothermal crystallization behavior and isothermal crystallization behavior of poly(ether-ether-ketone)(PEEK)/fluoropolymer blends are studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Different fluoropolymers and the same fluoropolymer with different terminal groups have different effects on PEEK crystallization behavior. Ethylenetetrafluoroethylene copolymer(ETFE) with acyl fluoride(COF) terminal group promotes PEEK nucleation and accelerates isothermal crystallization rate of PEEK in the blends, while the blending of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) slows down PEEK isothermal crystallization rate.
