    Synthesis of Poly(4-vinylpyridine)-b-Poly(ethylene oxide)-b-Poly(4-vinylpyridine) and Its Application for Separation of AlkalineProtei by Capillary Electrophoresis

    • A welldefined triblock copolymer, poly(4-vinylpyridine)bpoly(ethylene oxide)-b-poly(4-vinylpyridine) (P4VP-b-PEO-b-P4VP), was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), and characterized by 1H-NMR and gel permeation chromatography. P4VP-b-PEO-b-P4VP was successfully used as physical coating in the capillary for alkaline protein separation by capillary electrophoresis (CE). P4VP-b-PEO-b-P4VP with higher molecular mass of P4VP block achieved higher separation efficiency of the three alkaline proteins.
