Resistance Characteristics of Magnetorheological Elastomer

The magnetorheological elastomer（MRE） samples with different graphite contents were prepared by different fabrication methods. An experimental test rig was then set up to investigate the resistance of MRE under different conditions. By studying the conduction mechanism and adding other impact factors, the approximate expression of MRE′s resistance was deduced. Results showed that sample shapes, preparation methods, graphite content, applied magnetic field and external loading influeced the resistance of MRE.
