Abstract
Regenerated silk fibroin(SF)and nanobioactive glass (NBG) powder were used to prepare composite films for a novel biomaterial. The structures of the composite films were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA). Results showed that the NBG nanoparticles could be well dispersed in the SF film, and with the addition of NBG particles, the conformational of silk fibroin slightly shifted from random coil or silk Ⅰ to silk Ⅱ structure. The mechanical properties of composite films also decreased. In vitro bioactivity study showed that the addition of NBG has accelerated the rate of hydroxyapatite formation on the composite films. The composite film had higher bioactivity and excellent ability to induce deposition of more hydroxyapatite.
