Preparation of Modified Aramid/Polyaniline Composite Conductive Fibers

    • Composite conductive fibers ECP PPTA/PANI were prepared by the encapsulation of poly p-phenyleneterephthamide (PPTA) template with polyaniline (PANI) after the surface modification with epichlorohydrin (ECP) on the surface of PPTA fibers. Moreover, the modified fibers (ECP-PPTA) and ECP PPTA/PANI were studied by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The thermal stability was studied by the Thermo Gra vimetric Analyzer (TGA). Results showed that PANI was grafted on the surface of PPTA successfully, and the resistivity of ECP-PPTA/PANI were better than PPTA/PANI composite conductive fibers, and the lowest room temperature resistivity of ECP-PPTA/PANI was about 0.32 MΩ·m.
