    Characterization of Phenylethynyl Siloxane Borane Modified with Di((N-m-Acetylenylphenyl) Phthalimide)Ether

    • Phenylethynyl siloxane borane (PESB) was modified with di((N-m-acetylenylphenyl) phthalimide) ether (DAIE) and used as the matrix resin of composite. The curing mechanism and heat resistance were studied with FT-IR, DSC and TG. The flexural strength, heat resistance and fracture surface of the composites were also studied. Results showed that the temperature of 5% weight loss (T5%) of the cured blends was 576 °C in nitrogen and 507 °C in air. The mass retention of the composites after placed in 500 °C environment for 10 min was 97.0%, and the flexural strength was 176 MPa.
