Properties of Hygroscopic Exothermic Type of Viscose Fibers

    • Hygroscopic exothermic viscose fibers were prepared by hydrazine hydrochloride crosslinking with carboxymethyl viscoses. Hygroscopic calorific value, breaking strength, thermal properties and microstructure of fibers were discussed. Results showed that when nitrogen mass fraction reached 2%-4% and moisture regain achieved 25%-26%(90%RH), hygroscopic heating effect was the most significant. The best hygroscopic calorific value could reach 7.67 J/g. Wet breaking strength increased obviously after crosslinking, and the ratio of wet strength to dry strength increased by 16.9%, while there was a little impact on thermostability. The surface topography of viscoses changed obviously, and the grooves disappeared gradually as the degree of crosslinking increasing.
