Abstract
A new kind of zirconium aminophenylacetylene (ZAPA) resin was synthesized using 3-aminophenylacetylene (APA), acetylene and zirconium tetrachloride as materials through precursor synthesis. The structures were characterized by FT IR. Thermal curing reaction was monitored by DSC and FT-IR. Thermal properties of cured ZAPA were evaluated by TG analysis. Moreover, the ceramic properties of cured ZAPA were studied by XRD and EDS analysis. Results showed that the ZAPA resin could be cured. Compared with the cured APA, the cured ZAPA resins had better thermal stability. The temperature of 5% mass loss under nitrogen was up to 445 °C and the residual at 1 000 °C was 43.7%. In the air, α ZrO2 containing ceramic was obtained after sintering at 1 000 °C for 5 h.
