Abstract
Sulfonated copoly(phthalazinone ether sulfone) (SPPHES) were prepared via heterogeneous sulfonation method with chloroform as the solvent and sulfuric acid as the sulfonation reagent. Effects of sulfuric acid concentration, reaction temperature, and reaction time on the sulfonation degree of SPPHES were investigated. The structures of SPPHES were characterized by FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Results showed that sulfuric acid groups were introduced into copolymer chain successfully. The thermal stability of SPPHES was evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis. The decomposition temperature of SPPHES was above 280 °C.
