Recent progress in the studies of fluorescent chemical sensors is reviewed according to the design of fluorescent indicator, immobilization technique and sensor materials. Particular emphasis is given on the application of some novel fluorescent chemical sensors and some progress of nanosensor materials. Furthermore, the future of the research in this field is envisaged.
