Kinetics of the Curing of Polyurethane Modified Unsaturated Polyester Resin

The curing characteristic and kinetics analysis of polyurethane modified unsatura-ted polyester are studied by DSC and FT-IR. The network of polyurethane is formed much faster than that of unsaturated polyester. The apparent activation energy of UPR is 58.0 kJ/mol, while that of polyurethane modified UPR is 64.8 kJ/mol. There is no significant difference between the two systems. The reaction order of UPR is 0.90, while that of polyurethane modified UPR is 0.91.
