Progress on Photosensitive Resins for 3D Printing

    • Techniques of 3D printing based on photosensitive resins with respect to their low cost, high building accuracy and fast speed have been widely applied to many areas. However, the production of 3D photosensitive resins are now monopolized by only a few foreign companies, which resulted in the sky high price of 3D resins. By contrast, the research of photosensitive resin in China began in a later stage, which makes difficult to compete with those foreign companies. Recent progress on the development of photosensitive resins for 3D printing, including of forming methods, photocuring principle, resin compositions is reviewed, which focused on the formula design and evaluation of 3D photosensitive resins.
