Synthesis and Characterization of Conjugated Copolymers of p-Benzoquinone Diimine and p-Phenyleneethylene by Metal Complexes Catalyzed Polymerization

Abstract
Under the presence of metal complex, poly(N,N′-p-benzoquinone diimine-alt-1,4-diethynyl-2,5-bis(n-alkoxy) benzene(PAn-PPE) was synthesized via cross coupling reaction between the N,N′-dich-loro-p-benzoquinone diimine and 1,4-diethynyl-2,5-bis(n-alkoxy) benzene, which was characterized by FT-IR、1H-NMR、GPC、XRD、UV-Vis、PL and TGA. Results show that UV-Vis maximum absorption wavelength of PAn-PPE in THF and TFA is about 440 nm and 490 nm respectively. The photoluminescence excitation and emission peak are about 450 nm and 475 nm, respectively. The copolymers have good electrochemical activities and thermal stability.
