Recent Progress in Chain Conformation and Function of Triple Helical Polysaccharides

    • Triple helical polysaccharides,a naturally occurring biopolymer with special structure, not only shows high biological activity, but also exhibits particular molecular recognition and incomparable features. This review mainly introduces the chain structure and multiple conformation transition of triple helical polysaccharides, analyzes the molecular chain interactions during the denaturation and renaturation process, and reveals the scientific principles for the formation and morphological changes of triple helical structure.Meanwhile, the correlation of biological activity to chain conformation of triple helical polysaccharides, and the recent progress in polysaccharide-based functional materials which were constructed based on the conformation transition were also reviewed.
