    Preparation and Performance Characterization of Tripolycyanamide Formaldehyde Resin Foam Modified by THIEC

    • Firstly,1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate(THIEC) as a toughening agent was introduced into the structure of tripolycyanamide formaldehyde resin (melamine resin) for chemical modification to improve the toughness of resin.Then,modified melamine resin was fully mixed and stirred with the surfactant,foaming agent,curing agent,nucleating agent and so forth,followed by foaming the mixed solution using the ordinary heating method to produce tripolycyanamide formaldehyde resin foam (melamine foam).The morphological structure,flame retardation,mechanical property,and thermal insulation of melamine foam were examined and analyzed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM),oxygen index testing apparatus,universal material testing machine,thermal conductivity measuring instrument,respectively.Effects of the amounts of foaming agent,curing agent on the apparent density and morphology of melamine foam were studied.Results showed that melamine foam compression strength reached 150 kPa,limited oxygen index was 34,thermal conductivity coefficient was 0.027 W/(m·K),when THIEC、foaming agent、curing agent、nucleating agent dosage followed by melamine resin quality of 15%、10%、6% and 2%,and the foaming temperature was 80℃.
