    Preparation and Properties of Chemical-Bonding Type Antibacterial Polyurethane Foams Modified by PHMG

    • Antibacterial flexible polyurethane (PU) foam was prepared by one-step molded foaming via chemically bonding polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride (PHMG) onto the backbone of PU.The chemical structures of PU products were confirmed using FT-IR.The bonding rate was obtained using UV spectra data.The cellular structure,mechanical,antibacterial and antimildew performances were investigated.Results showed that when the mass fraction of PHMG was 0.5%,the bonding rate reached 76.0%,the inhibition rates against E.coli and S.aureus were both above 99.5%,and the antimildew grade could reach zero-grade.
