Application of MOF-Based Materials in Catalytic Synthesis of Dimethyl Carbonate
-
Abstract
Dimethyl carbonate (DMC) is known as the new cornerstone of organic synthesis. The preparation of a new and efficient DMC catalysts is of great significance for promoting industrial development. Metal-organic framework (MOF) has been widely studied and applied in the field of catalysis due to their high specific surface area, diverse structures, and porosity, which allows for the targeted design of material components and structures. In this review, the structural regulation strategies of MOF-based materials and their applications in DMC catalysis are summarized, including defect state control, organic functional group functionalization, mixed metal functionalization, and MOF derivative construction in the strategies. Besides, the acquisition of DMC through methyl nitrite carbonylation and CO2 direct synthesis methods are introduced. At the end of the review, the challenges of MOF-based materials in DMC catalytic applications are also discussed.
