Abstract:
Poly(methyl methacrylate)based polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) materials were prepared by the method of polymerization induced phase separation (PIPS). The phase separation and dispersed states of the PDLC with different 5CB contents were characterized by DSC and POM. The electrooptical properties of the samples were investigated using UV-Vis spectroscopy at 633 nm, 0~30 V. Results showed that when the mass fraction of liquid crystal 5CB was 30% in PDLC, the dispersed states of liquid crystal were wellproportioned, and the variation of transmittance reached the highest value.
