Abstract:
Polylactic acid-g-polyacrylamide(PLA-g-PAM) was synthesized via graft polymerization of polylactic acid with acrylamide using benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as initiator, and the medium polymer was treated with sodium hypochlorite to obtain acyclic N-halamines polymer. Influences of polymerization condition on the graft polymerization were investigated. Molecular structures were characterized via 1H-NMR and FT-IR. PLA films were prepared using solutioncasting method. Results show that the acyclic N-halamines PLA film can provide potent antimicrobial functions against Escherichia coli.
