Abstract:
The living poly(styryl)lithium was synthesized by anionic polymerization under argon atmosphere. Polystyrene-b-poly(glycidyl methacrylate) copolymers were prepared by the copolymerization reaction of poly(styryl)lithium with glycidyl methacrylate (GMA),which were characterized with GPC, FT-IR, 1H-NMR and hydrochloric aciddioxane argentimetric method. Effects of GMA dosage, copolymerization duration and temperature on the number of side epoxy group were also studied. Results show that poly(styryl)lithium endcapped with 1,1-diphenylethylene (DPE) can initiate GMA in toluene in the presence of LiCl and a small amount of THF, and the number of side epoxy group can be adjusted. The optimal reaction temperature is -65 ℃ and the best termination time is 0.5 min.
