Abstract:
P(HEMA-co-AM) crystalline colloidal array (CCA) films were successfully prepared by embedding polystyrene colloidal crystal array in crosslinked copolymerization membrane of acrylamide (AM) and methyl methacrylate hydroxyl ethyl ester (HEMA). Effects of monomer ratio and content of crosslinking agent (MBA) on the photonic bandgap, tensile strength and elongation at break were studied. Results show that the CCA films have sharp photonic bandgap when the mole ratio of HEMA to AM is less than 2.33 and the periodic structures of CCA remain orderly. With the increasing of HEMA and MBA, the photonic bandgap blueshifts. When the mole ratio of HEMA to AM is 0.11 and mass fraction of crossslinking agent is 0.96%, the tensile strength and elongation at break increase two folds.
