Abstract:
A novel fluorine-containing epoxy vinyl ester resin (F-EVER) was synthesized using fluorine-containing epoxy (F-EP), acrylic acid (AA) and methacrylic acid (MAA) as monomer. The resin was modified by maleic acid (MA), FT-IR spectra, TGA and mechanical properties. The corrosive resistance of the cured resin was also investigated. Results showed that the F-EVER had best performance when resin was synthesized under DMF as catalyst, molar ratio of carboxyl groups to epoxy groups was 0.9, molar ratio of F-EP to MA was more than 0.1, and the mass fraction of polymerization inhibitor was 0.03%. Furthermore, both thermal and corrosive resistance were promoted due to introduction of the element fluorine.
