Abstract:
A kind of novel polyurethane ionomer nanoparticles (PUI-NPs) were used to modify polyurethane (PU) films. An excellent blood compatible polyurethane/polyurethane ionomer nanoparticles composite film (PU/PUI-NPs film) was prepared with sedimentation. The structure of the PU/PUI-NPs film was characterized with SEM, ATR-FTIR and XPS. Platelet adhesion, recalification time, hemolysis and protein adsorption measurement were used to assess the blood compatibility of PU/PUI-NPs film. Results showed that PUI-NPs was introduced into the PU surface successfully. The blood compatibility of PU/PUI-NPs film was improved remarkably, compared with that of PU. PU/PUI-NPs film had lower cytotoxicity than PU.
