Abstract:
In order to improve the processability of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF), four different types of plasticizers such as dibutyl phthalate (DBP), sulfolane(SFL), glyceryl triacetate(GL)and propy-lene carbonate(PC) were blended with PVDF to improve its properties. Differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA)and tensile instrument were used to characterize the crystal behavior, compatibility and mechanical properties of PVDFplasticizer blend system. Results show that when the plasticizer mass fraction in the blends is lower than 10%, it has good compatibility with PVDF, and the blend samples have high breaking strength and strain. But when the plasticizer mass fraction is more than 10%, the compatibility between the plasticizer and PVDF becomes poor and the phase separation phenomenon appears in the blend samples.
