Abstract:
Microparticles of Konjac Glucomannan(KGM) were prepared in neutral condition adopting emulsion with span80 as a surfactant, paraffin liquid as the oil phase (O) and aqueous solutions of KGM as the aqueous phase (W) by adding sodium sulfate solution. Diameters of microparticles limited the range from 0.120 mm to 0.330 mm when the volume ratio of oil phase to aqueous phase(O/W) from 6 to 10 at 85 ℃ for 5 h. The diameters of microparticles decreased with the increasing of the volume ratios of O/W; the swelling degrees of microparticles decreased with the increasing of reactants concentrations. The release in vitro from Bovine Serum Albumin(BSA) microparticles shows that the rate of release reduced with the increasing of microparticle diameter and reactant concentration.
