Abstract:
The crosslinking reaction takes place spontaneously when chloromethylating linear polystyrene-b-polyethylene(PSE). An indirect chloromethylation of PSE was carried out in a homogeneous system. After that, FT-IR, 1H-NMR, TGA and DSC analysis were used to characterize the chloromethylated product. The results showed that the crosslinking degree in chloromethylating PSE could be measured by solvent extraction combined with 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The chloromethylated product decomposed at 220 ℃. And the crosslinking reaction led to the increase of the glass transition temperature of chloromethylated product, but the thermal decomposition of the chloromethyl groups occured more easily.
