Abstract:
A novel methylacrylamide derivative zwitterionic monomer was synthesized, and hydrogel with dual antibacterial action was prepared via radical polymerization. The obtained monomer and hydrogel were characterized by 1H-NMR and FT-IR. The hydrolysis curve of the hydrogel released salicylic acid was also investigated. E.coli which contained the green fluorescent protein was applied to evaluate the bacterial adhesion efficacy of the hydrogel surface. The antibacterial activity of the hydrogel was investigated against both E. coli and S. aureus. Results showed that the hydrogel not only prevented bacteria surface adhesion but also released salicylic acid to achieve antibacterial action.
