Abstract:
Three kinds of acrylic acid sodium superabsorbent polymers(SAPs), acrylic acid sodium polymerized glycol two methylacrylic acid(PAANa-E), and acrylic acid sodium polymerized two methylacrylic acid glyceride(PAANa-GDA), and acrylic acid sodium polymerized three glycol two methylacrylic acid(PAANa-TE), were synthesized using the part neutralized acrylic as raw material, EGDMA, GDA and TEGDMA as crosslinking agent by ultraviolet light trigger polymerization. The effect of crosslinking agent amount, monomer volume fraction, acrylic acid neutralization degree and radiation time on liquid absorbency were examined. The relationship between liquid absorbency of three kinds of SAP with different chain length and temperature, pH, solution ionic concentration were studied respectively. SAP was characterized by FT-IR and TGA. Results showed that liquid absorbency of the three kinds of SAP were 2 509,170 g/g; 2 291,125 g/g; 3 930,219 g/g in the ionized water and NaCl solution respectively. PAANa-TE showed the highest absorbency rate, PAANa-E showed better, PAANa-GDA showed the least absobency rate. When PAANa-E and PAANa-TE contained the same polar group types and the different amounts of ether bases, the liquid absorption rate increased significantly with the increasing of ether base amount.
