Abstract:
1-Dimethylsiyl-2-phenyl 1,2-dicarba dodecaborane was synthesized and grafted into poly(vinylsilylene ethynylenephenyleneethynylene) through the hydrosilylation addition.A new carborane-g-poly(vinylsilylene ethynylenephenylenethynylene)(CB-g-PVSA) was obtained. The grafting and structures of the polymer were characterized by 1H-NMR. The curing behavior of CB-g-PVSA was traced by Differential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC). The CB-g-PVSA resin showed good processability and the crosslinked CB-g-PVSA thermoset showed excellent thermal oxidative stability based on thermogravimetric analysis. The decomposition temperature of 5% mass loss(Td5) and the mass residual of the crosslinked thermoset at 800 ℃ under air were 602 ℃ and 92.6%, respectively.
