Abstract:
Antibacterial and mould-proof polyurethane coatings (PU-PHMG) were prepared via chemically bonding polyurethane (PU) with polyhexamethylene guanidine (PHMG). The molecular structure and performances of the products were characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Abbe Refractometer and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), etc. Properties of PU coatings affected by PHMG mass fraction was investigated. Results showed that when the mass fraction of PHMG was 1.01%, the bonding efficiency reached 93.59%, the inhibition rate against
E.
coli and
S.
aureus was above 99.5%. Then, the durabily antibacterial property of PU-PHMG was proved. Moreover, the antibacterial coating exhibited excellent performance of mould-proof and mechanical properties.
