Abstract:
A series of tetramethylcucurbit6uril-anchored polyacrylic acids (TMeQ6-anchored PAAs) were synthesized in the presence of ammonium persulfate (APS) as both an initiator and an oxidant according to Su's one-pot strategy. The effects of acrylic acid concentration, TMeQ6 feed mass, and APS concentration on the formation of the polymers were investigated. TMeQ6-anchored PAAs can be further esterified with phenol to yield water-insoluble derivatives, thereby permitting the absorption and desorption of antiseptic molecules.
